Bring your family and friends!

You will experience nature up close. The weather, the Norwegian climate, the silence and wildlife around you…

Do you dream of falling asleep and wake up to the sounds of nature? Then you’ll love a stay at our treehouses!

Trehyttene is located in Gjerstad in southern Norway, halfway between Oslo and Kristiansand. You’ll spend about three hours driving from Oslo and two hours from Kristiansand.

We have two treehouses: «Kråkeslottet» (Crows castle) and ”Gjøkeredet” (Cuckoo`s nest) By May 2017 will also «Flåklypa» be ready for our guests.

There is accommodation for eight people in all the treehouses.

Kråkeslottet – if you prefer facilities

Kråkeslottet is the treehouse with most facilities. There you will find running water, shower, toilet and electricity. The house stands on the ground, while the large terrace is hanging in the trees. Around “Kråkeslottet” there are many activities that can be done. You can try a climbing trail, swimming and fishing, you can use a small boat and make a campfire both on the terrace and on the ground. You will find fine hiking trails nearby.

Gjøkeredet – great view and wilderness

”Gjøkeredet” is a real treehouse, attached to four pine trees. The views and wilderness is spectacular up there, high on the hillside, far from civilization.

You can cook on a gas stove and heat up the cabin with a wood stove. There is no electricity in ”Gjøkeredet”, but we have solar panels that provide light. You will also find candles in the treehouse that creates a magical atmosphere.

You can swim in the river below, explore the woods and nice trails in the area. We work with a climbing trail for children in spring 2017. Feel free to use the fireplace, it is nice to be together around the fire.
